The Présence Africaine bookstore was created at the beginning of the sixties, part of the dynamic of the work carried out by Alioune Diop.

It firstly offers a showcase and direct accessibility to works published by the publishing house, but also to all publications which show the proliferation of thought on the continent and in its diasporas  : literature and its criticism, linguistics, history , sociology, anthropology, philosophy, theology, politics, current affairs, children's literature, magazines, DVDs...
